YYC Growers is a local farmer owned cooperative. Our purpose is to connect our incredible farmers with enthusiastic eaters by gathering and distributing nutrient-dense food through a system that regenerates our environment and community and supports the local economy.

Our subscribers pick up their harvest box, fruit share, eggs, meat, and extra web orders from over 10 community pick up locations around the city. Our weekly pickups occur in everything from LRT stations and community halls, to cafes and breweries- this is what it’s all about: linking communities together!

On any given week we have up to 60 subscribers picking up their veggies at the our pick-up locations. Are you interested in hosting us weekly for our Wednesday or Thursday pick-ups?

Benefits of hosting a YYC Growers Pickup location:

Our pick-ups capture a wide demographic of folks who primarily live in the neighbourhoods of the pick-up locations. We know from our experiences at other partner locations across the city that businesses experience increased customer traffic to retail locations. Our partners in retail locations have seen a significant increase in sales on days that they host a YYC Growers Pickup.

Why else should you consider becoming a host location for YYC Growers?

  • Be a part of the local ecosystem! Our customers are focussed on supporting local businesses, and are natural fit customers for businesses with similar values.
  • Free veggies! We send a ‘Host share’ of each week’s produce to stores that host a pickup location if you are interested.
  • Cross promotion on social media. We have an active and engaged social media following of >10,000 people and we love promoting our friends and partner

Requirements for a pickup location:

We’re happy to navigate most spaces. If your store doesn’t quite match our asks- let’s chat about how we can make it work! Here’s what we’re hoping for:

  • We send our produce in stacking bins, and generally need around 50sq feet of floor space to lay out the bins so they can all be accessed.
  • Customers come to pick up and depending on the location do not need to come inside, so during COVID or other limitations on occupancy we can limit the inside occupants to one pick up location host who will bring individual customer pickups outside to the customers. Or if you are comfortable, one customer at a time can enter the building.
  • Parking is an asset but not essential.
  • *Optional: Space to set up a table for a pop-up market. When possible, we seek to host a small pop-up market alongside our subscriber pickup at select locations. We would love to continue this based on suitability with the new location, but it’s not essential.
